        20 1/2x12 inches, 52x30 1/2 cm.
        Condition B+/ B: restored losses, repaired tears and restoration in margins and image; restored pin holes in corners; horizontal fold.
        Wright was a New York City based painter and illustrator who designed over 30 posters for the New York Herald newspaper. Although advertising a monthly magazine, this can also be viewed as an early American aviation poster. It depicts Lieutenant Hugh Wise, the first American (and third person in the world) to be lifted airborne by kites, from Governors Island, on January 22, 1897.
