        SOUTHWORTH & HAWES (1843-1863)
        Assemblage with 2 daguerreotypes, comprising a quarter-plate of L. Nobb, the Mayor of Boston, and a whole-plate of a framed proclamation.
        The Mayor is seated in a Southworth & Hawes chair and the proclamation also appears on the wall behind him. The document was issued by the Major and Alderman of Boston, England to the Mayor and Common Council of Boston, Massachusetts. In a sealed contemporary frame measuring 17x10 inches (43.2x24.5 cm.); a printed transcript of the proclamation is on the obverse of the frame. Circa 1855
