This set was in Vuillard's (1868-1940) personal collection and passed at his death to his brother-in-law, the artist Ker-Xavier Roussel (1867-1944), thence to Roussel's son, Vuillard's nephew, Jacques Roussel, who inherited the set in 1944. Jacques Roussel sold this set of color lithographs, along with some pastels by Vuillard, to a French private collector in the 1950s, thence by descent to the current owners. Roger-Marx 31-44.
