        "Not this Trip, Old Pal." Preliminary version for the first painting in a series of four propaganda advertisements commissioned by the Hercules Powder Company in 1917, first published in The Literary Digest on March 16, 1918; this image was later reprised by the Hercules Powder Company in calendar form during World War II. Oil on board. 610x457 mm; 24x18 inches. Not signed. Board slightly bowed, even soiling. Accompanied by a lithograph of the image.
