Additional Details

an unsusually full and detailed fröbel workbook. Wilhelm August Fröbel was the pioneer of early childhood education and founder of the first Kindergarten in 1837. These educational notebooks, based on his teaching principles, were used in classrooms as far-ranging as London, Canada, Germany, and the United States. The lessons, known as Fröbel's "Gifts and Occupations" explore the concepts of shapes and objects (such as paper, string, balls, cubes, lines, points, etc.), known as "gifts" and the ways in which they could be manipulated, which he called "occupations." This particular workbook explores the 12th-15th gifts of sewing, cutting, weaving, and folding and shows a dizzying array of intricate patterns, textures, and colors.
