On 10 May 1865, Jefferson Davis was captured while allegedly wearing his wife's cloak, a development which brought joy to the hearts of Union cartoonists. This five-panel pamphlet depicts a nervous-looking Davis being fitted for a skirt, running desperately from the troops, and finally standing at the gallows.
