Additional Details

Frank Robert Harper (1876-1948) shows Lincoln standing at the United States Capitol in front of a crowd of dignitaries which apparently includes his predecessor James Buchanan--and also his rival Stephen Douglas, who is rumored to have said afterward "If I can't be the President, at least I can hold his hat.'
