A group of 36 professional photographs surveying the streets, architectural infrastructure, and dramatic landscapes of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
With bustling scenes of high streets littered with signage, storefronts, early automobiles, and trolly cars, alongside sprawling panoramic views of Rio from above, snuggly situated among the mountainous coastal landscape, with Sugarloaf in the distance. Silver prints, the images measuring 6 3/4x9 inches (17.1x22.8 cm.), some slightly larger, and the reverse, some with the photographer's (Malta, Affonso, or Preising) credit and/or title in the negative, and many with the photographer's hand stamp (Museum Agricola Servico Photographico) and/or label, and typed caption, on verso.
