The title pages, P.P.I.E., 1915 and Frisco, Cal., feature large, intricately cut-out photographs die-printed in the shapes of letters and numbers; this powerful visual device sets the stage for a tour-de-force graphic presentation. The fo
llowing pages with one to 13 prints per sheet of varying shapes and sizes (including tiny detailed cut-outs) depicting various aspects of the fair, from dazzling long exposures of Art. Smith and Chaz. Niles' nighttime aviation displays; to well-composed views of architectural attractions. Silver prints, the images measuring 1 1/2x 1/2 to 3 3/4x5 1/4 inches (3.8x1.2 to 9.5x13.3 cm.), mounted recto only, many with descriptive captions, in white ink, on recto, and in the negative.
