Additional Details

This group of fine chromolithographs represents a nearly complete run of the approximately 200 facsimiles of important European Renaissance paintings published by the ambitious Arundel Society in the mid-to-late-19th century. The faithfully copied images offer a wide range of religious masterworks, with at least one picture by Durer, Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Titan, Masaccio, Fra Angelico, Bartolomeo, Raphael, Botticelli, Ghirlandaio, Perugino, Carpaccio, Giotto, Mantegna, Veronese and many others. Several multiple-panel works are presently complete, including Van Eyck's Ghent Altarpiece and Memling's Triptych of Jan Floreins and Passion Altarpiece.
