SCHUYLER, PHILIP. Autograph Letter Signed, to Peter Van Schanck, giving projected returns from various New York counties in the 1792 election, indicating a Federalist majority over George Clinton. 1 1/2 pages, folded 4to sheet with integral address leaf; holes from opening restored. Albany, 5 May 1792

Additional Details

" . . . we conclude that the Eastern district will have an adverse majority of nearly 400. In the County of Albany favorable about 830. Montgomery ditto about 100. Herkimer adverse 150. Otsego 320, Saratoga Warren and Ontario and Tyoga we have not learnt. Suppose the one to ballance the other. Hence the adverse in the Eastern and western district is 550 and the favorable 1250 leaving a majority in our favor of 700. Mr. Hoffman writes me that there is no probability of a Majority in favor of Mr. Clinton in the Southern district exceeding 300 . . ."
