Viaud (1918-1991) was born in Mexico City and studied with the artist Manuel Rodríguez Lozano. He was active in a wide array of media and formats from the 1930s onward, as both a muralist and an illustrator, and exhibited alongside David A. Siqueiros and Diego Rivera at group exhibitions in Mexico.
