Sheet of Studies: Head of the Artist, A Beggar Couple.

Etching, circa 1632. 100x105 mm; 4x4 1/8 inches, narrow margins. Biörklund's second state (of 2); Usticke's second state (of 4); White and Boon's second state (of 2). Arms of Amsterdam watermark (Ash/Fletcher 1; they note a similar watermark on another impression of this subject in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston). A superb, dark and evenly-printed impression of this scarce etching with all the delicate details distinct and with crisp, partially inky plate edges.

According to Usticke, "A very scarce sheet" (RR+). Bartsch 363; Biörklund 32-1; Hollstein (White and Boon) 363.
