The following Bernhardt Wall material comes from the family of Natalie Williams of Marshall, Texas. Williams was a close lifelong friend of the pioneer American etcher and printer of fine press books. Though Wall began his career as a commercial lithographer and achieved much success, a trip to the Southwest in 1915 so inspired him that he devoted his future work to chronicling that region in print and image. The following lots, which contain inscribed books, graphics, and ephemera, include the richest section of her library of Walliana from that period. A portion of Williams's collection was previously acquired by the Cushing Memorial Library at Texas A&M University.
