Additional Details

It is believed that Robert Burton was the pseudonym for the publisher of this description of the British colonies in North America and the West Indies first published in 1685. The frontispiece is a crude map of the Eastern seaboard with several depictions of Indians fighting and with a small inset of Newfoundland. The map was re-engraved for the 1728 edition. <
