President Lincoln and the Emancipation Proclamation feature at the center of this allegorical piece; Lady Liberty fights copperheads with a sword, while an enslaved family walks to freedom at bottom. We have found no other information on the artist, E.G.(?) Hutchins of Buffalo, NY. None in OCLC, but one found in the Lincoln Financial Collection.
