Pen and ink portrait of Lincoln, 9¾ x 11½ inches, laid down on its original pen and ink decorative border, 17 x 14 inches, captioned "Abraham Lincoln, the Sixteenth President," with the national seal below, two unrelated penmanship samples in the lower margin, and signed "Executed with a steel pen by J.B. Hughes, Business & Ornamental Penmanship Taught"; minor edge wear. One of the penmanship samples is dated New York, 9 January 1876. No place, circa 1876.

Pencil portrait of McClelland, 20½ x 16 inches, captioned "Maj. Gen. Geo. B. McClellan, U.S.A.," and signed "J.G.[?] Willard"; mount remnants on verso. No place, 18 December 1865.
