(ADMIRALS--USA.) BYRD, RICHARD E. Two items, each Inscribed and Signed, "DickByrd," to Admiral Morton L. Deyo or his daughter "Lila": Printed portrait of him * TLS with holograph postscript. The portrait, "To Lila Deyo from / her daddy's old friend with / cordial regards from her cousin," half-length portrait by Walter Tittle, showing him in uniform. Inscribed in the blank lower margin. 10x8 inches; faint scattered dampstaining affecting portrait and inscription, closed tears at lower edge affecting inscription (without loss). The letter, thanking for a wedding present and, in an Autograph Postscript: "Green Boller [Bowler?]. I spelled it wrong, my secretary tells me. I am only here for a day.
