A small archive relating to Artkraft Strauss, including 2 albums and more than 200 loose photographs. The first album with approximately 90 photographs documenting the construction and installation of large dimensional figures for the Bond Clothing Sign in Times Square, including the lifting of the large 3D elements and ogling spectators. The second with approximately 55 images of Loew's movie marquees in New York City, these taken by Peter S. Kaufman, along with a list of the locations. Also with a selection of about 230 additional small-format photographs of movie marquees and advertising, some taken at night, and some with a credit for the Brooklyn photographer Robert. Silver prints, 55 of the images measuring approximately 8x10 inches (20.3x25.4 cm.), the rest 4x5 inches (10.2x12.7 cm.), and smaller, and the reverse, all of the larger-format, and many of the rest, with a photographer's stamp on verso. The albums both 4to-sized, the first black with the title "Bond Sign," on the front cover, the photographs are stapled to black pages recto/verso, 2 per page; and the second gray with a 3-ring binding, a removed label on the front cover, and an Artkraft Strauss Signs, Inc. notation, in ink, on the rear pastedown; both slightly worn. 1948
