Additional Details

Cushman Parker created over 30 advertisements for the Beech-Nut company of Canajoharie, N.Y. in the teens and 1920s featuring rosy-cheeked children enjoying their various products. His original artworks for them were nearly identical in style to the tow-headed sailor boy on this canvas: a child whose name began with an alliterative Beech-Nut "B" against a plain white background that was camera-ready for text.
