MAXFIELD PARRISH.
Two Studies. The first is a preliminary study for the Fisk Tires advertisement, "Fit for a King," 1917. The second, is a study of a young man in three quarter profile wearing a hat, possibly for Collier's, circa 1920s. Graphite on paper or glassine. The first measures 324x229 mm; 12 3/4x9 inches. The second measures 64x76 mm; 2 1/2x3 inches. Both are unsigned. Provenance: Donated to The Haggin Museum, Stockton, California by Maxfield Parrish in 1958; de-accessioned in 2006.
