Additional Details

Original flyers from the early days of the ANC, such as "We Bring You a Message. The African National Congress Calls you to Action!" a double sided flyer with the portrait of Oliver Tambo and Nelson Mandela; printed on very thin paper, in Bantu, Swahili, Xhosa etc; other flyers or pamphlets include: "Sons and Daughters of Africa," "Forward To Freedom, We Call the Coloured Community" "We Shall Win," "The African National Congress says to Vorster and His Gang, Your Days are Coming to an End!" A scarce booklet in comic book form, called "The Story of Simon and Jane," which was obviously aimed at the greater masses, of people with limited reading skills. The last item in this "scrap book" is a mimeographed newsletter called "VUKANI---AWAKE," No 2. March, 1975. "For the Liberation of South Africa and all of Her Peoples." This collection is an exceptional, personal record from someone inside the anti-Apartheid struggle of the late 1960's through the late 1970's.
