Group of 12 commercial portraits of men and women who lived in metropolitan areas, comprising 2 Victorian whole-plate tintypes and 10 artful studies from the 1920s-40s, some of which were taken in studios in Cleveland, Philadelphia, New York, Houston, and Tacoma; the remaining prints are unidentified. Tintypes (2) and silver prints (10), from 6x4 to 10 1/4x13 1/4 inches (15.2x10.2 to 10.25x33.7 cm.), and the reverse, 8 are housed in the original decorative overmats, one is hand-tinted, 2 are artistically enhanced, and one is signed on recto. 1870s-1940s

with--Group of 6 photographs, comprising 4 of fraternal organizations (YMCA, "That Glorious and Noble Fraternity [Harlem]," a pair of Odd Fellows, and the "Ne Plus Ultra Fraternal"), and two church-related (conference of the Methodist-Episcoal Church, and a group of ushers from Inwood, New York). Silver prints, 9 1/2x7 1/2 inches (24.1x19.1 cm.), and smaller, each is mounted. 1910-30s.
