Additional Details

The newspaper clipping reads: "Harlem boycott of the bus lines got a new convert yesterday. Don Redman, famed orchestra leader, showed up on the picket line -- accompanied by a bevy of beauties from the chorus at the Apollo Theater. Leaders of the boycott movement vow they'll carry on until Negroes get jobs as chauffeurs and mechanics on the bus lines that run up to Harlem. The Negro consumer strike began as soon as the Transport Workers Unions strike ended."
