With images of Father Divine, Adell Dillard, Vivian Malone Jones, the Tuskegee Airmen, and Bettie Pride, as well as more than 30 photographs of Autherine Lucy and the Scottsboro Boys. Silver prints, the images measuring mostly 8x10 inches (20.3x25.4 cm.), and the reverse, with hand stamps, notations, and captions on verso. 1937-74

Additional Details

Lucy Arthurine was the first registered black student at the University of Alabama and Vivian Malone Jones was the first black graduate of the school. Bettie Pride was a 100-year old daughter of an ex-slave who was named champion Alabama farm cotton grower.
