A fascinating album with over 160 photographs of Alaskan cities and landscapes, most of which depict the areas in and around the city of Nome, including sled dogs, reindeer, snowy streets, social gatherings, interiors, store fronts, whaling boats, natives, an image of the famous explorer Captain Amundsen, and several images depicting the gold rush. Includes images with credits for the Lomen Brothers (10), as well as Goetze, Nowell, Dobbs, and Bell, in addition to numerous, more personal snapshots by inhabitants. Silver prints (over 160) and cyanotypes (4), more than 100 are approximately 7 1/2x9 1/2 inches (19.1x24.1 cm.), and the reverse, but also includes about 60 smaller snapshots (30 of which are loose), many of the larger prints with a credit and/or caption in the negative, some with a date; also with ephemera laid in. Tall 4to, 1/2 leather, backstrip perished; photoraphs mounted informally recto/verso, with some detached. Circa 1905-1910
