"It is not very damp in the tent, you see we have a good fire every night. . . . We have had three different coocks since we came, one was a Jap. . . . I have worked every day except one since I started, Sundays and all, for there is no Sundays for the miners in Alaska. I would get wild if I should stay around camp all day. . . . I am busy studing minerals and formation because I will not go out to sell stock before I know something."
