An album associated with Riverbank Laboratories (a.k.a., United Reproducers Corporation), which was founded by "Colonel" George Fabyan, containing 220 photographs depicting the emerging science of cryptology or data communication and storage in secure and unusually secret forms.
With carefully captioned photographs depicting a host of radio and transmission equipment, plus scientists and staff at work in the laboratories and on the road, in addition to radio trade shows, and the corporation's buildings and campus; with a few newspaper clippings. Silver prints, the images measuring 2 1/4x2 to 5x6 3/4 inches (5.7x5 to 12.7x17.1 cm.), the sheets slightly larger, each with a caption, in ink, below the photograph or on print recto. 4to, gilt-lettered green leatherette; ties. 1928-29

Fabyan (1867-1936) was a successful businessman and multi-millionaire who founded a private research laboratory dedicated to modern cryptography. He was credited with organizing the U.S. Intelligence Service's Cryptography Division, and military-based investigations were performed at his Geneva, Massachusetts facilities.
