Promotional tinted lithographed portrait of the ship after a painting by Fred Pansing, advertising the Tehuantepec route between New York and Hawaii, 23 1/2x33 1/4" sight size; mounted as probably issued; 2" closed tear extending into caption at bottom; in an old wooden frame, probably original. not examined out of frame. Circa 1910

Additional Details

The ship was built in 1902 as a freighter. She was used by the U.S. Navy during World War I, and resumed cargo service after the war. She was sold to an Italian concern in 1933 and scrapped shortly thereafter.
