Mount somewhat brittle and worn at edges, with loss of a small fragment of the upper right corner of the image, creases near lower margin, slight abrasion to image near right center edge. Np, circa 1886

None of the photograph's faults affect the crisp, attractive images of the subjects. Another copy in carte-de-visite format is at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, which identifies the subjects as (left to right), four Pawnees--Brave Chief, Eagle Chief, Knife Chief, and Young Chief; William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody; and four Sioux--American Horse, Rocky Bear, Flies Above, and Long Wolf.
