Additional Details

interesting association copy. Signed on the front pastedown by Jasper Parrish (1767-1836), a white settler who was captured by the Delaware Indians as a boy in 1778 and was sold to the Mohawks in 1780. After his release in 1784, he worked for the United States government as an interpreter and Indian agent among the Six Nations. This set was apparently part of the working library of a man who knew its subject well. Third edition. Howes C560, Sabin 14275.
