Samples of two different backstrips are affixed to the front pastedown, one brown calf and the other maroon gilt pictorial cloth. Included are an almost random sampling of 40 text leaves plus 24 plates from the actual book. Following the sample pages are 8 pages of advance testimonials from newspapers, 2 ad leaves for this work, a 2-page printed list of subscribers, and a 48-page subscription list including blanks.
