Additional Details

"Third and revised edition" of a book documenting a 1909 gathering of tribal leaders on the Little Bighorn River in Montana which featured several survivors of the Custer battle. The original expedition was underwritten by department store magnate Rodman Wanamaker, who held the copyright on both the text and photographs. This copy was personally inscribed by Dixon to his benefactor: "To Rodman Wanamaker, whose great soul has made him the pathfinder to the soul of the Indian. Affectionately, the author, Joseph Kossuth Dixon."
