A typed carbon copy of "An Act to Appropriate Four Thousand, One Hundred and Four Dollars to Pay the Pression of the Legislature," listing the 39 members of the Chickasaw legislature, with manuscript signatures of 7 Chickasaw officials. Beneath the request is typed docketing reading "The White House, Washington, D.C., October 15, 1906. Disapproved," followed by the manuscript signature "T. Roosevelt." Federal recognition of the legislature was being withdrawn at that time, as Oklahoma was preparing for 1907 statehood. With the official certification of the request by the national secretary of the Chickasaw Nation, 21 September 1906, and the original docketing wrapper.
