The boarding school at Carlisle was founded in 1879, and took in Indians from across the country in an effort to further assimilation. The caption on verso reads "Delegation of Iowa's, Sac & Fox's." The school's founder Richard H. Pratt stands to the left. Also identified is school inspector James M. Haworth.
