The Brulé Lakota leader Hollow Horn Bear was one of the most noteworthy to sit for Rinehart's camera. He fought at Little Big Horn, was the police chief at Rosebud Reservation who arrested Crow Dog for the murder of Spotted Tail, made frequent visits to Washington as a Lakota diplomat, and was immortalized on United States currency and postage.
