Additional Details

Chatto (1860-1934) was a Chiricuaha Apache chief, most remembered for leading an 1883 New Mexico raid in which a judge and his wife were killed, and their young boy captured. Chatto was captured in 1884 and later served as a scout for the United States Army. In 1886, he was imprisoned for refusing to support the removal of the Chiricuaha from Arizona to the Indian Territory.
