Autograph Letter Signed, "A Hamilton / A[ide]D[e]C[amp]," to Major-General Lord Stirling, conveying the approval of "His Excellency" [George Washington] concerning Stirling's choice [of William Willcocks, who was appointed Sterling's aide-de-camp on April 13]. 1/2 page, folio; signature clipped out of letter and later replaced with tissue repairs verso, docketing and address verso with moderate bleed-through affecting signature, hole from seal at middle left repaired with paper, scattered faint staining, deep fold at middle, upper and lower blank margins folded behind letter; matted with portrait and framed. sold as is.
