Additional Details

Written two months before the regiment departed southward for the siege of Yorktown. Discusses a rumor that "the sergeants in conjunction with the Round Heads are to command our line." Discusses hats and quilting patterns, and asks that "if you should hear of any seizure of blue broad cloath that is good I beg you'd remember me." Also hopes to initiate court-martial proceedings against "the persons named as criminals in Cully's confession" and hopes for tougher laws against soldiers convicted of "yoaking hogs & cutting stallions."
