Additional Details

When first organized at the end of the Revolution by Henry Knox, Jedidiah Huntington and Baron von Steuben, the Society of the Cincinnati restricted its membership to the officers of the Continental Army and their firstborn descendants. Membership requirements have changed only slightly over the years, and today the select members of the Society continue to keep alive the memory of the sacrifices made for American liberty.
