". . . Hope a quantity of flour will be thrown into West Point. The troops do not yet obtain a full daily supply. Considering the advanced season of the year and the probability that the number of hogs below the lines will daily diminish and the forage to be made in the front of the army, I have determined to attempt it as soon as the militia and teams can be collected. I apprehend, however, that the number of hogs that will be collected will not be great . . ."<
