Additional Details

As this document was written shortly after the battle of Eutan Springs, Marion (1732-1795), "the greatest guerilla fighter of the American Revolution," might have been gathering provisions for the anticipated celebration of Cornwallis' surrender. Less than a month later, Marion left the army when he was elected to the South Carolina State Senate.
