Additional Details

Includes almanacs for each year between 1771 and 1782, plus an extra for 1777. The Ames Almanack for 1774 and the Bickerstaff for 1780 are the only ones which appear to be substantially complete. Included are two illustrated highlights. Low's "An Astronomical Diary: or, Almanack for the Year . . . 1775" features a title-page woodcut of "The Virtuous Patriot at the Hour of Death" (but lacks the final 2 leaves). "Bickerstaff's Boston Almanack, for the Year of our Redemption, 1780," though lacking the final leaf, includes on the verso of the title page "View of the British Fortress at Stoney Point, stormed and carried by a party of the Light Corps of the American Army under the command of Gen. Wayne on the morning of the 16th of July last." 6 almanacs are lacking at least the title pages, and have not been identified.
