Heading the list is the sitting governor Jonathan Trumbull, who went on to become the only pre-1775 colonial governor to win re-election after independence. 4 of the other listed candidates (Roger Sherman, Oliver Wolcott, Samuel Huntington, and William Williams) would soon sign their names to the Declaration of Independence. 3 in ESTC, and none traced at auction since 1921.
