A 1778 separate printing of an October 1776 act of the General Court or Assembly of Connecticut, paginated "507" to be bound at the end of a previously issued volume of acts. It authorizes the Continental Army to confiscate supplies at a price to be decided by the local sheriff: "If any Person or Persons within this Colony shall, upon Request, refuse to sell or supply to the Quarter-Masters-General of the Continental Army the Articles of Timber, Boards, Shingles, Brick or Stone, or to sell or let their Horses, Oxen, Carts or Carriages for transporting the same," the sheriff shall "cause an Apprizement to be made thereof . . . at the just and true value; and deliver the same to the said Quarter-Master."
