All of the issues are packed with war news. The 12 November 1777 issue prints Gates's letter to Burgoyne after the Saratoga surrender, offering a prisoner exchange for Ethan Allen; on 11 March 1778 is a letter from Washington requesting support from the farmers of New Jersey and Pennsylvania in the coming campaign.
