Benadam Gallup (1716-1800) served as a colonel in the Connecticut militia. Here he details the pork and beef he collected to support the Continental Army during the final period of the war. It begins with a 2-page list with more than 30 entries from 14 November 1780 to 8 February 1781, for example "received of Mr. Jedediah Baley 91 1/2 lb beef of the best quality."

The remaining pages may represent transactions made for the town or his own account, rather than for the army, 1780-1782. One page breaks down the butchering of 7 cows and oxen, weighing the forequarters, hindquarters, hide, tallow. Another page lists "Provisions &c brought in by the inhabitants of the town of Groton to Benadam Gallup, Comitteeman" from 28 November to 22 December 1781, including cloth, stockings, and wheat flour. The latest entry is for "beaf I bought for the town's use" on 19 January 1782.
