Additional Details

Three of the twelve letters by a moderate revolutionary, preaching caution to rebellious Americans. They had tremendous influence in the colonies. From the third letter, offered here: "Be upon your guard against those who may at any time endeavor to stir you up, under pretenses of patriotism. . . . When the appeal is made to the sword, highly probable is it, that the punishment will exceed the offense."
