Additional Details

The 24 April issue includes a long report on the Boston Massacre, under the heading "The following authentic Account of a most alarming Transaction at Boston, is just received." More than a full page is devoted to the event. This was apparently the first report of the massacre printed in England, as the London Gazette of that date did not mention it. Long articles following the aftermath appear in the 28 April, 3 May, and 5 May issues. The 8 May issue headlines the event as "the Murders at Boston," and describes it as "an outrage."
