A series of early fictionalized views of the events surrounding the British occupation of New York.

"Représentation du Feu Terrible á Nouvelle Yorck." 13 x 20 inches; minimal wear. Depiction of the massive fire in British-held Manhattan on the night of 20 September 1776. British troops are beating suspected arsonists; several slaves (clad only in loincloths) carry pillaged trunks out of the burning buildings. Paris: Chereau. Variant of Cresswell 268.
